What it’s like to work with me

“Kristine was recommended to me by a friend when I had reached a point in my career where I felt lost. My boss and mentor of five years had just left the non-profit where I worked and it made me question everything. My current career path, the organization where I worked, and even my happiness over the last few years. I was having a hard time processing anything with my mind in such emotional turmoil. I decided to speak to a therapist. The therapist gave me a couple of things I could do to help my anxiety but basically told me my levels were not high enough to worry about. Then I was introduced to Kristine. I had reservations about coaching at first and I was worried my feelings would be dismissed again. I had also never spoken to a coach before and was worried the whole experience would be quite hokey. However, Kristine's friendly demeanor and willingness to share made her instantly feel like I was catching up with an old friend. Our first session flew by as we introduced ourselves and talked about my goals for coaching. Kristine has acute listening skills and will use what she hears to gently steer you into thinking deeper about your topic. I felt hope after that first session. I saw a tiny light at the end of the tunnel that Kristine had helped me see. As we worked together over the following months, that light grew larger and stronger until I felt as optimistic and enthusiastic about my professional future as I did on my first day of work at that non-profit. I felt empowered to make changes in my career and it opened my eyes to a fantastic internal opportunity that I took advantage of. I felt confident enough in my ability to see the signs that led me to this unhappy place in my career, so I would not be blindsided again. I am so grateful to Kristine for listening to my story, for laughing with me, and for guiding me. I wholeheartedly recommend her services. At the very least, you'll gain an incredible friend.”

“I am so grateful for the work Kristine and I did together. We met at a very tough time for me and I really feel transformed. Kristine’s thought partnership, compassion, and insights meant so much to me. I was skeptical about coaching and didn’t expect to be able to have a positive experience - let along such an affirming, supportive, and critically productive relationship. I have been sharing Kristine’s name liberally with others and highly recommend her as a Coach!”

“Working with Kristine for my interview prep was a dream. During our exploratory call she asked thoughtful questions and laid out a couple plans for how we might work together. The mock interview she created was thorough and on-target…impressively so! All the topic areas we prepped for came up during my interviews. We spent time talking about how I was feeling about the approaching interview + why, doing the mock interview, and debriefing the mock interview, where she gave specific, actionable feedback. It was very collaborative and helped me give a great interview! Next time I need some extra support, I’ll be reaching reach out to Kristine.”

“After separating from military service, I joined a government contracting firm. It was a natural next step and an easy process. But, I quickly realized that contracting was not for me. I started looking at other jobs and felt like a fish out of water. Things that looked like good fits weren’t interesting to me, and jobs that were interesting felt like an impossible reach. I hadn’t written a real resume in twenty years. My wife knew Kristine and recommended I talk with her. Kristine recognized I needed structure. She gave me career assessments and she walked me through the results. Her questions really helped me articulate what motivated me in work. She helped me build a plan and timeline for researching fields and jobs that were strong matches and for talking with people in those fields. She emailed me weekly to check in on my progress. Kristine helped me write my resume from scratch and set up a professional LinkedIn Profile. We practiced interviewing several times. I now work for a major technology company and am able to help hiring managers understand the value of hiring former military personnel. I 100% recommend Kristine as a coach for anyone making a career change.”

”Kristine is a superb interview coach and communicator. I worked with her twice to prepare for an important interview. She researched the company and position I applied to and built a mock interview. She listened to my goals and concerns and gave me specific tips for sharpening my unique messages and stories. After the mock interview she gave me detailed feedback, including outlines to use for answering certain tough questions. I have never felt so prepared or confident in interviews. Thank you, Kristine!”

“I started working with Kristine to navigate a career transition when it became clear I was getting in my own way trying to go it alone. She has helped me constructively look at some ingrained behaviors I always considered both frustrating and inevitable and see beyond those mental blocks. Kristine also has the singular ability to take a jumbled, self-effacing stream of consciousness and turn it into strong, clear language about what you do and what you care about. She’s always in your corner but will hold you accountable to yourself too. Working with her has been the push I needed to start taking control of my career!

“Kristine’s professional approach to coaching helped me to improve self-reflection, discover what I value most, and identify more clearly the topics that were meaningful for my career growth.  Kristine is personable and insightful.  She listens intently, remembers details from past coaching sessions, and picks up on the nuances of what you share to help you notice patterns in your reasoning that reveal issues that are standing in your way and highlight what is most important to you.   She helped me push through my mental roadblocks and I saw a big difference in my career opportunities.  If you want actionable steps to achieve your goals and non-judgmental, compassionate guidance, then Kristine is the coach for you!  She will even equip you with tools to help you navigate your way in the world once your sessions are done.  Sometimes managing improvement or change requires a partner—that is why coaches like Kristine make all the difference to achieving a more accurate picture of your reality and potential!”

- Evita Payton, Performance Improvement Manager, Chenmed

“I had such a positive experience working with Kristine, I would recommend her over and over. I initially decided to try coaching because I was struggling with productivity while working from home during lockdown. Since then, we have covered much more ground than that first goal. Each coaching session starts with you bringing a topic to discuss. For me, these topics were normally things that I would view as challenges in my role. By the end of each session, I would have a completely different perception of the so-called challenge, insight into why I first viewed it as a problem and sometimes just plain relief or excitement because I finally had a way forward. Even more importantly, through coaching, I learned to identify similar scenarios on my own and tackle them independently. Without coaching, I would have stayed stuck in my original patterns without the skills to self-assess and address these obstacles. I am personally excited for anyone who has the opportunity to meet with Kristine. She is warm, genuinely cares, and has exceptional listening/questioning skills. I consider attending these sessions as a true investment in my career.”

- Wilson H., Management Trainee, Cintas

“Kristine is an amazing coach, and I highly recommend her to anyone who feels stuck in their career. My job was suffocating. Kristine listened carefully to help me clarify my strengths and build a detailed job search strategy. Most importantly, she helped me figure out how to tell my story so my career change not only make sense, but be inspiring for future employers. I am now feeling hopeful and excited for the future!”

“When I found out I was being promoted, I panicked. I had worked so hard to move up, but all of a sudden I was afraid I wasn’t ready. I was scared of not having the answers and of not being viewed as credible by my new employees. I actually thought about backing out. Kristine helped me relook at my values and strengths. We practiced how I could respond to different challenges in my new role. Through coaching, my self-assuredness grew. I was able to move into my new position with confidence and excitement.”

- Raina K., Director, Strategy Design, Virginia

“After being out of the workforce for 20 years while I raised two children, I had no idea what I actually wanted to do, and the prospect of starting over was terrifying. I reached out to Kristine based on a recommendation from a friend, and after our first session, I was hooked. Her openness is so genuine, it completely put me at ease. Every time we talked, she listened and asked me questions that led me to think about things in a way I never had before. She seemed to know instinctively when I needed challenging and when I needed encouraging. It felt like a luxury to be seen like that - to be not only accepted, but championed. She honed in on the skills and value I could bring, taught me about steps for networking and building an ATS-compliant resume, and helped me prepare for interviewing. I am happy to report I have a new job and I know I wouldn’t have gotten here without Kristine’s help.”
